The X5 is an incredible SUV, but it's larger and doesn't have the nimble, athletic handling of the X3. The 5 Series sits lower to the ground and isn't nearly as practical for everyday life. Meanwhile, the full X3 M is significantly stiffer and more aggressive, making it less enjoyable as a daily driver for many people. The M40i gives you the perfect balance of luxury, performance, comfort, practicality, and handling. If we were buying one for ourselves, this is exactly the model we'd choose.
